About The Artist
I am a Portland native, wife, and mother. I have always been a "craft" person but took up other forms of art in my forties due to an illness. I love nature and hiking and always bring my camera along to get take that special shot!
About The Art
These art pieces are made from a collection of photos I took. I was drawn to these images by nature's relentless hand on man-made structures - I'm awed by the force of the nature! You can see nature's process even on the areas of graffiti where through time, wind, and salt air the paint has been re-created to look organic. Some of the images have grass, flowers, and trees, showing time in the seasons.
All the frames are made from recycled wood and metal, found or retrieved, and some have recycled mats and
papers. Each piece (even if it's the same image) is unique because each piece is made from different pieces
of wood and metal. I'm sensitive to glare and find it distracting, so I choose not to use glass or photo
paper so the result looks more like the actual structures! These pieces are made to be rustic with the focus
on the piece as a whole - not on perfection.
My desire is to have fun making art and sharing it with you. I hope you like them!
